AGRICULTURAL PHOTOGRAPHY

The changing landscape of our agricultural land constantly inspires me. During the farming calendar, I try to shoot these changes in farmland, from young crops in the spring to harvested fields in later summer.

The habitat on and around farms can be a real haven for wildlife. More intensive farming methods have left us in a situation with many species reduced in numbers. Many small birds are reliant on certain habitats, both as a food source and as a suitable nesting site. Over the last decade or so, government incentives have worked towards restoring some of these habitats, and schemes such as the Countryside Stewardship Scheme have led to many farmers managing their farms in a more wildlife friendly way.
